Call for Proposals

The call for proposals is now open and we hope that you will consider presenting this year. This is a great opportunity to share your presentation with a smaller audience prior to the AACRAO Annual Meeting. Sessions can be presented with one or multiple presenters and panel sessions are encouraged.

Tips for Writing a Conference Presentation Proposal

Answer these questions as you are brainstorming for a topic:

  1. What is the conference theme?
  2. Who is my target audience? How much background information do they have?
  3. How could my experience and knowledge add value to this conference?

Think about these things while writing the description:

  1. Takeaways - What will an audience member get out of this presentation?
  2. How will this presentation engage the audience members?
  3. You don’t need to know all the details now

Other:

  1. Think about a topic you can cover in the allotted time slot (60 minutes)
  2. Pay attention to submission deadlines
  3. Always phrase your proposal clearly and specifically, avoid over-the-top phrasing and jargon
  4. Consider a partner presentation or panel

Complete the 2021 Session Proposal Form by September 10, 2021 to have your presentation considered for the 2021 Joint Conference.
