Transfer Credits Beyond the Scope of Regional Accreditation

In 2020, the US Department of Education made significant changes to structure of accreditation by eliminating the distinction between regional and national accredited agencies. As many institutions have previously used regional accreditation as the “standard” criteria for what is accepted for transfer credit, this UMACRAO conversation is intended to explore how regional institutions transfer credit practices have evolved to meet the needs of learners with transfer credits while maintaining institutional integrity.
